Nicholas Peters’ primary focus is on the firm’s strategy, initial platform acquisitions, and investor relations. Mr. Peters’ role with the portfolio companies involves the mentoring of portfolio company management. Mr. Peters also has overall responsibility for the investment activities of Prometheus, including platform investments, deal sourcing, analysis, execution, legal documentation, platform negotiations, mentoring, and monitoring. Mr. Peters is also responsible for the firm’s lender and investor relationships and heads one of Prometheus’s deal teams.
Mr. Peters founded Prometheus in early 1996. Since that date, the firm has completed six platform investments and over 45 add-on acquisitions in the skill crane, pay-air vending, bottled water, portable sanitation and Tier-One restaurant industries, and has completed three successful exits.
From 1989 to 1995, Mr. Peters was a founding partner of WestSphere Capital Associates, L.P. At WestSphere, Mr. Peters had overall responsibility for the U.S. private equity business, including identifying, structuring, analyzing, financing, and executing acquisitions. Among the acquisitions he supervised and administered were Southern California Food Services Corporation, Southeast Food Services Corporation, Coastline Food Service Corporation, Automatic Detection Systems, Inc., National Security Consultants, and National Security Services. Mr. Peters served as the President and Chairman of the Board of all of these companies. Mr. Peters also functioned as the President and CEO of Southern California Food Services Holding Corporation for three years until a CEO was hired. In addition, Mr. Peters also served on the Board of Directors of Medical Laboratory Network, Inc.
Prior to his role in the founding of WestSphere in 1989, Mr.
Peters was a Director at Ehrlich Bober International, Inc. His
responsibilities included structuring and financing leveraged buyouts
and providing merger and acquisition advice.
From 1985 to 1988, Mr. Peters was a Director in Chase Investment
Bank’s Syndications Group, where he structured and placed
over $8 billion in LBO and acquisition financings. Mr. Peters has
extensive experience in private equity and LBO finance. He was
previously a member of Chase’s Corporate Finance, Swaps,
Debt Syndications, and Financial Institutions Groups.
Mr. Peters holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Investments from Cornell
University and a B.B.A. in Finance from Adelphi University.
